Chamisal Vineyards
Over Memorial Day weekend, I made a trip down to San Luis Obispo and ended up spending a relaxing afternoon at Chamisal Vineyards in the Edna Valley, just a 10-minute drive from downtown SLO.
We were originally considering several wineries, including some in Paso Robles. Many of them were on the smaller side and operate as boutique accommodations, which made it harder to get a dedicated winery experience reviews. Then we came across Chamisal Vineyards on Tock. The vibe felt nice, cute, and well-organized, while offering a variety of tasting experiences. So we booked a visit.
They mainly produce Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but they also offered sparking wine options.

We opted for the Signature Reserve Flight, a 60–75 minute tasting experience overlooking the vineyard. It included five of their signature library wines and a charcuterie plate curated from local creameries. The price was $85 per guest plus tax.
I enjoyed all of them.
- Sparkling
- Chamise Chardonnay 2020
- My personal favorite. Rich, flavorful, and perfect on its own.
- Chamise Chardonnay 2021
- Lighter and cleaner. I think it would pair beautifully with sashimi.
- Morrito Pinot Noir 2020
- Morrito Pinot Noir 2021
- Earthy and smooth. This was my partner’s favorite.
The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. All the tasting tables were in a cozy backyard area with a clear view of the vines.
Since we were still hungry after the first charcuterie board, we ordered theSavory + Sweet S’Mores plate. It came with amazing honey (they were pretty sure it was Nate’s). And the s'more experience was pretty fun, and the fire kept us warm from the wind and chilly weather.
Nice visit overall—easy to get to, well curated experiences, and good wines.
